WME Basketball 

WME Basketball is a global agency providing elite representation and unparalleled service to professional basketball players.  

Program Overview 

During your nine weeks with us in WME Basketball, you will be fully immersed in the world of basketball learning from and working with all the different parts of our business that support our clients ranging from on and off court representation, and client marketing/brand strategy & communications.  

The internship programming will provide hands-on learning experiences such as Client/Agent Q&A sessions, spotlight speaker series, and more depending on your placement location. We're looking for students who have dreamed of working in basketball and have an interest in the sports talent representation business.  

Essential Responsibilities 

• During your nine weeks with WME Basketball, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the different facets of the basketball industry through various projects. 

• You'll learn about talent evaluation through both qualitative and analytical evaluation.  

• You’ll learn cold-calling and marketing skills, assist with client recruiting research, and client pitch fact sheets.  

• You’ll assist with sales research and analysis, talent brand deck updates, support, and research & sponsor and brand research.  

• The internship will culminate with a final project presented to leadership where you will have the opportunity to apply and demonstrate the knowledge and experience gained from your nine weeks with us. 

Additional Program Details 

This role is open for both our LA and NY offices; in-person attendance is required, and relocation assistance will not be provided. Internships are 32 hours per week, Monday through Thursday.

In addition to the essential responsibilities listed above, you will have the option to partake in networking opportunities and career building workshops specific to the basketball industry. Each intern will also be paired with a mentor who best aligns with their specific interest in the industry for the duration of the program.  

Important Dates 

• February 27th: Applications will be accepted through this date and will close at 11:59PM PT. 

• March: The interview and selection process will take place. 

• The program will run from June 1 - July 30. 

Recruitment Process 

Our process consists of four steps:

1. Video Interview with a Recruiter. If selected for the next round, you will be contacted by the recruiting team to schedule a 30-minute video interview. 

1. Video Interview with the Hiring Manager. If selected to move forward, you will meet with the hiring manager and potentially 1-2 additional team members. 

1. Offer or Decline. If selected for the position, a recruiter will call to extend an offer. If you have not been selected, a recruiter will reach out to let you know via email. 

Pay 

We offer paid internships; rates vary based on location. Pay rates typically align with local required minimums.
