Decatur FC is seeking a Community Engagement Intern to support the club’s connection with local organizations, community groups, and partners during the 2026 season.
This internship offers hands-on experience in community engagement, sports operations, and event management while supporting a growing women’s soccer club in Decatur. Decatur FC aims to serve as a place where students and community members can gain meaningful experience working in sports and live events.
The Community Engagement Intern will help strengthen relationships with local organizations and ensure that community groups attending matches feel welcomed and connected to the Decatur FC experience.
Responsibilities
During the week

Coordinate communication with community organizations, local groups, and partners attending matches

Track group attendance and ticket allocations

Help organize community recognitions and special moments during matches

Support fan engagement initiatives such as community campaigns and promotions

Maintain a list of participating community partners and groups
On match days

Welcome various community groups attending the match

Assist with coordinating community recognitions on the field or during halftime

Support halftime activities involving community partners

Help ensure a positive experience for community guests
Preferred Qualifications

Interest in sports, community engagement, or event operations

Strong communication and organization skills

Schedule and Expectations

Season runs for five weeks during the summer (first game: May 22, 2026)

Internship begins May 4 and includes all home matches

6-8 hours per week during the week (prep work)

Match days require additional evening availability
Compensation

$1,000 stipend for the five-week season
