DUTIES:
Responsible for the leadership and development of student athletes including:

  • Discipleship
    • Discipleship of women in the program to facilitate spiritual growth in each student athlete
    • Teaching and modeling the value of Christian competition
    • Monitoring academic performance of student athletes and working to ensure the discipleship, development, and retention of student-athletes
    • Counseling team members in disciplinary, academic, or personal matters while consulting with LETU administration on matters requiring resolution of problems.
  • Recruiting
    • Recruit and retain quality student-athletes who understand and embrace LeTourneau University’s mission and vision as the Christian Polytechnic University
    • Find and enroll student-athletes that are equipped with the ability to achieve academic and athletic success
    • Working in conjunction with the head coach to fill a roster with an appropriately competitive number
  • Excellence
    • Work to ensure we are the most effective and most successful athletic department in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in all facets
    • Preparing the student-athletes in the analyses of specific sport analyses and planning strategies accordingly
    • Handling all social media accounts for the LETU Volleyball program, regularly producing engaging content
  • Service
    • Regularly serve in the department in any area needed, including spiritual development, home events oversight, and fundraising activities
    • Contributing and caring for the development and growth of the athletic department, in tangible ways
    • Creating service and mission opportunities for student-athletes to invest in the community
  • Administrative Effectiveness
    • Ensuring compliance with the University, ASC Conference and NCAA policies and regulations
    • Approaching every facet of this position with a high degree of professionalism
    • Performing other duties as requested by the head coach or Vice President for Athletics

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith committed to a Christian higher education that integrates Christian faith with learning.   
  • An accredited bachelor's degree is required; along with acceptance into an LETU graduate program. 
  • Ability to be a dynamic leader within the athletic department  
  • Strong organizational ability
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other administrators, coaches, students, and faculty members.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of and commitment to NCAA Division III.  
  • An acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
