Schedule: Hybrid | ~9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Position Overview

The Workforce Development Intern will support the Varsity Trades Academy, a program focused on connecting young adults to careers in the skilled trades.

This role provides hands-on experience in workforce programming, participant support, outreach, and career pathway development.

Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery & Operations

  • Assist with planning and execution of training sessions and workshops
  • Support day-to-day program logistics and coordination

Participant Support & Case Management

  • Track participant goals, attendance, and progress
  • Assist participants with job searches, apprenticeship applications, and career planning

Outreach & Communications

  • Develop outreach materials (flyers, newsletters, social media content)
  • Support recruitment and engagement efforts

Research & Career Pathways

  • Research apprenticeship opportunities and workforce trends
  • Compile resources to support participant placement

Capstone Project

  • Develop a program improvement recommendation, resource guide, or placement strategy
  • Present findings and recommendations at the end of the internship

Qualifications

 

  • Interest in workforce development, community engagement, or nonprofit programming
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
