WPBL INTERNSHIPS

The Women’s Professional Baseball League (WPBL) is looking for passionate self-starters who are passionate about fan experience and the showcasing the best of women’s baseball. Interns must be available to work games (Wed-Sun) during our August and September season.

Our internship program is designed for professional development and academic growth. While these positions are unpaid, we work closely with students to ensure they receive full college credit through their university’s internship program.

Stadium Operations

Sample of Responsibilities & Duties

• Assist in maintaining the status of the ballpark and keeping all areas in safe and clean condition
• Identify potential gameday employees for auxiliary events
• Assist in inventory controls and purchasing supplies for stadium
• Assist in pre-event set up and post-event takedown
• Assist in employee scheduling for events and games throughout the season
• Assist in set-up and preparation of concession stands and group areas
• Responsible for set-up of post-game meals in clubhouse for both teams
• Assist in setting up inflatables prior to all games
• Restocking and organizing team store & bars as needed

Ticket Sales

Sample of Responsibilities & Duties

• Assist sales staff in fulfillment of ticket orders
• Conduct prospecting research to help grow season ticket memberships and group outings
• Assist in development of promotional events
• Assist with tracking analysis and reporting
• Process all walk-up ticket sales
• Cold-calling potential groups and season ticket buyers
• Assist customers in purchasing tickets over the phone and in-person
• Serve as coordinator for group and corporate outings at Robin Roberts Stadium

Promotions & Marketing

Sample of Responsibilities & Duties

• Create supervised content for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Tik Tok pages
• Facilitate interview requests and media credentialing
• Analyze the effectiveness of online campaigns by collecting data and producing reports
• Assist with the planning and coordination of promotional dates and giveaways
• Outreach to local businesses and community in developing and executing theme nights
• Develop and plan in-game entertainment aspects and schedule
• Create a run-of-show for each game, compiling the PA reads and on-field activities
• Photograph and record each home game for marketing and video materials

Clubhouse Manager

Primary Objective: To maintain a professional environment for athletes and staff through meticulous facility upkeep, equipment logistics, and hospitality management.

Sample of Responsibilities & Duties

• Maintain a professional and clean clubhouse environment for all personnel
• Vacuum clubhouse, clean bathrooms, lockers, office area and field area
• Proper disposal of all trash
• Laundry (uniforms, personals, towels, staff needs, etc.)
• Pre-game setup of water coolers in each teams’ dugout
• Coordinate and set up post-game meal spread with chafing dishes and professional catering equipment
• Provide game balls / bags for umpires
• Organize food, equipment, and supplies for clubhouse

Food & Beverage

Sample of Responsibilities and Duties

• Serve as the liaison between the league and vendors with regards to food and beverage 
• Develop and carry-out catering options for patrons in exclusive group areas
• Manage and schedule food vendors and concessions staff
• Ensure group area catering is cooked, served at the appropriate time
• Manage inventory on all food & beverage products after each home game
• Ensure quality control and all Illinois Department of Health mandates are met
• Knowledge of all equipment on site
• Manage post-game catering for players in Clubhouse
