Newberry College (NCAA Division II), located in Newberry, South Carolina, seeks three (3) dynamic and innovative professionals to serve the Communications and Creative Services department. These graduate assistantships help play a role in shaping the athletics brand, driving fan engagement, and enhancing the student-athlete experience through compelling storytelling and progressive digital strategies.

Reporting to the Assistant Athletics Director for Communications and Creative Services, the successful candidates will be part of a team responsible for athletics communications, creative content, live video streaming, and statistical reporting for a 26-sport, 800-student-athlete program. This position combines strategic vision with hands-on execution and requires a collaborative, service-oriented leader committed to the mission and values of Newberry College, NCAA Division II, and the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).

JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.Assist the director and assistant director develop and execute a creative content strategy that enhances brand identity, fan engagement, and recruiting efforts.

2.Assist in the production of video, graphics, and written content for digital platforms, highlighting student-athletes and the athletics experience.

3.Use artificial intelligence tools to streamline operations.

4.One of the GA positions would serve as primary play by play announcer for live streams of sports other than football, basketball and baseball.

5.Assist in the creation of website content, press releases, feature stories, and official statistics.

6.Create, produce, and oversee live video streams for all home athletic events, ensuring compliance with conference and FloSports standards.

7.Other duties as assigned by Assistant Athletics Director for Communications and Creative Services.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience in collegiate athletics communications or creative services preferred. Experience with live streaming and broadcast production. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. Experience with Genius Sports, StatCrew, SIDEARM, or similar platforms. Knowledge of NCAA Division II statistics and communications practice. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
