Position: Governance and Compliance Intern
Reports To: Assistant Commissioner
This internship will provide the opportunity to receive sports administration education and training in one of the premier Division I collegiate athletic conference offices. This position will be exposed to and involved in the ongoing development of West Coast Conference initiatives, providing hands-on experience and learning opportunities, particularly in the areas of compliance, student-athlete involvement, and governance.
Principal Functions:
65% Assistance with the Conference’s compliance services. Examples of associated tasks include:
15% Assist with the Conference’s governance and student-athlete services. Examples of associated tasks include:
10% Assist with the Conference’s championships and events. Examples of associated tasks include:
10% Other projects and responsibilities based on areas of interest and experience.

The start date of the internship is tentatively August 3, 2026, and the end date is June 30, 2027. This is a 20-hour-a-week internship with hours arranged with a supervisor.
The intern will be paid $18.00/hour, and the internship does not include benefits.
This position will be based out of the WCC Office in San Bruno, CA. Some travel will be required.
The 2026-27 WCC Championship dates are listed below and availability to attend is expected for some or all of the following championship dates:
Fall 2026: Cross Country Oct. 30; Men’s and Women’s Soccer Nov. 11-14; Men’s Water Polo Nov. 20-22
Winter 2027: Men’s and Women’s Basketball March 4-9
Spring 2027: Women’s Golf April 23-25; Beach Volleyball April 29-30; Men’s and Women’s Tennis April 29-May 1; Men’s Golf April 30-May 2; Softball May 13-15; Rowing May 14-15; Baseball May 26-29
