Position:
The University of Detroit Mercy currently has an opening for a graduate assistant in the Athletic Communications office. Detroit Mercy is a Division I athletic department that competes in the Horizon League for most sports, but in the MAC for women’s lacrosse, the NEC for men’s lacrosse and the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference for men’s and women’s fencing.
Description:
For the graduate assistantship in Athletic Communications, the position will be the main athletic contact for 3-4 sports and be responsible for all releases, stat coordination, social media and general day-to-day SID duties.
For the graduate assistantship in Digital Media, the position serve as a content producer for social media outlets
The position will require weekend and evening hours as well as the potential to travel to some championship events. A flexible schedule will be arranged based upon graduate school class schedule.
Qualifications:
Both positions require:
A Bachelor’s degree
Must be accepted into a University of Detroit Mercy graduate program
For Athletic Communications:
Experience with statistical software knowledge for basketball, soccer, lacrosse and softball
Graphic design through Adobe Creative Suite
Good writing skills
For Digital Media:
Experience with photography and video programs
Knowledge of all social media platforms
Creative ideas and thinking outside the box to promote the University, teams, student-athletes and coaches
