About The Role
We are seeking a Graphic Design & Social Media Intern who can help bring the Open Gym Premier & subbrand events to life visually and digitally.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who follows the NBA, college basketball, and grassroots basketball, pays attention to how basketball brands and teams create content, and wants to build real-world experience in sports design, social media, and event marketing.
The ideal candidate is someone who naturally scrolls basketball Instagram, TikTok, X, and other social platforms for inspiration and understands what makes basketball content feel current, authentic, and engaging.

You don't need to know everything — we're looking for someone who is creative, curious, coachable, and genuinely passionate about basketball.

Responsibilities
  • Graphic Design
    • Create social media graphics, event promotions, schedules, announcements, and other digital assets for Open Gym Premier and subbrands.
    • Design content for Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and other social platforms.
    • Help create graphics for tournaments, showcases, player features, rankings, schedules, results, and special events.
    • Assist with maintaining consistent visual branding across events and social channels.
    • Take inspiration from current NBA, college basketball, sneaker, sports media, and grassroots basketball content.
    • Help develop new creative concepts and visual ideas for upcoming events and campaigns.
    • Resize and adapt creative assets for different social platforms and formats.
  • Social Media & Event Coverage
    • Assist with social media coverage during weekend basketball tournaments and events.
    • Help post real-time updates including scores, schedules, results, highlights, player moments, and event announcements.
    • Assist with Instagram Stories, Reels, and other fast-turnaround content.
    • Identify interesting players, teams, moments, and storylines happening throughout an event.
    • Help keep social channels active and engaging throughout tournament weekends.
    • Work with the creative and event teams to ensure important moments are captured and posted.
  • Basketball & Content Research
    • Follow NBA and college basketball social accounts to identify current creative trends and content ideas.
    • Stay familiar with basketball culture, players, teams, tournaments, recruiting, and grassroots basketball.
    • Research sports and basketball accounts for creative inspiration.
    • Bring new ideas to the team based on what's working across sports, entertainment, and social media.
What We're Looking For
  • Current college student, recent graduate, or aspiring creative professional studying graphic design, marketing, communications, media, or a related field.
  • Genuine passion for basketball and familiarity with the NBA, college basketball, and grassroots basketball.
  • Strong interest in social media and digital content as well as graphic design.
  • Basic-to-intermediate experience with design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or similar tools.
  • Comfortable creating content for social media platforms.
  • Strong visual eye and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines, particularly during live events.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced tournament environment.
  • Willingness to work select weekends and basketball events.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude.
  • Creative, energetic, dependable, and willing to learn.
  • A portfolio, Instagram page, school projects, or examples of design/social work is a plus.
What You'll Gain
  • Hands-on experience working in sports marketing, graphic design, and social media.
  • Experience creating content for a national grassroots basketball brand.
  • Exposure to live basketball tournaments, showcases, and events.
  • Portfolio pieces you can use for future creative opportunities.
  • Experience working with a professional creative and event team.
  • A deeper understanding of sports content strategy and digital marketing.
