The Biltmore Championship Asheville is seeking a candidate for an Event Services Internship. This role will support the Event Services team in planning, preparation, and execution of The Biltmore Championship Asheville.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

  • Actively participate in the pre-planning, logistics and execution of the tournament.
  • Assist with Volunteer Administration: recruitment, data entry, communication, volunteer package preparation, volunteer headquarters management, training, tournament-week execution, meeting participation, sponsorship, etc.
  • Assist with planning the Pro-Am, Pairings Party and Am-Am
  • Assist with corporate hospitality, including activation and facilitating relationships with tournament sponsors, clients, vendors, etc.
  • Manage pre-event shipping and storage of client boxes (Might not have onsite gifting)
  • Develop content and assist with the volunteer website, newsletter and volunteer handbooks
  • Work with Operations intern to secure volunteer / staff lunches prior to tournament week through donations and ticket trades
  • Manage and submit credential orders and client requests (bag tags and complimentary tickets, etc.)
  • Responsible for the inventory, storage and organization of all tournament apparel, gifts, etc.
  • Assist with general administrative work including purchasing, billing, and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or currently enrolled as a graduate or senior undergraduate student
  • Education and Computer Skills
  • Sports Marketing/Management, Marketing, Management, Hospitality, Communications, or comparable majors preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in basic social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Skill Set Requirements
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Must take initiative in project management and problem solving
    • Capacity to address multiple tasks simultaneously and remain composed under pressure
    • Organization, attention to detail, and time management
    • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, clients, sponsors, vendors, and the general public
    • Heavy lifting and labor are required
