PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Cleveland Guardians are committed to providing youth baseball and softball opportunities to our community in Northeast Ohio. With a devoted focus on preparing players, parents, and coaches with the highest quality programming, resources, and training, our programs focus on developing fundamental skills and basic knowledge of the game with an emphasis on positive character traits and strengthening the love for the game.
This position is structured to develop a pipeline for talented individuals who have participated in or benefited from programs offered by Cleveland Guardians Charities (CGC) and Community Impact (CI) programs. However, applicants who have not participated in these programs are encouraged to apply and bring their unique experiences and perspectives to the team.

The primary scope of work will be closely aligned with strategic priorities for youth baseball and softball programs, emphasizing the following goals: 1) Elevate Coaching Confidence and Capability -Strengthen coaching development through training, mentorship, and shared resources that build confidence, consistency, and connection among coaches, 2) Early Baseball Engagement and Broader Youth Access - Increase early exposure to the game by partnering with schools, community centers, and families to create more entry points for young players to learn and play, 3) On-Field Development & Performance - Equip athletes with the skills, strategy, and discipline to excel on the field through focused training, competitive opportunities, and a commitment to continual improvement, 4) Off-Field Growth & Life Readiness - Prepare athletes for success beyond the game by supporting their development in STEM education, mental wellness, financial literacy, and career readiness, and 5) Guards For All - Make baseball accessible and welcoming to all youth by removing barriers, celebrating diversity of talent and background, and fostering a sense of belonging on every field.

The expectation of this seasonal internship is approximately 40 hours/week beginning in May 2026 through August 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Program and Event Support: Assist in executing youth-focused community programs and events in collaboration with Cleveland Guardians Charities and Cleveland Guardians Community Impact. Including coordination of logistics such as scheduling, volunteer management, and providing on-site support.
- The following are examples, though this list is not exhaustive.
- Guardians Youth Summer Camps: Conduct weekly visits to various camp locations across Northeast Ohio, assisting Guardians active roster players and alumni during camp appearances.
- Guardians RBI: Provide weekly support to baseball and softball coaches and players through site visits and program engagement.
- Play Ball! CLE: Attend weekly league games and events across Northeast Ohio to offer support and engage with participants.
- Guardians Community Baseball Clinics: Attend monthly league games and events across Northeast Ohio to offer support and engage with participants.
- Community Engagement: Collaborate with local schools, youth organizations, community, and corporate partners to ensure effective program delivery and outreach.
- Social Media Content: Assist in capturing engaging photos, videos, and moments from events and programs to share across @CLEinspires social media channels.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance to the Cleveland Guardians Charities and Cleveland Guardians Community Impact teams, including documentation, communication with partners, and other tasks as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a current college student or recent graduate; a completed degree is not required.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to community engagement, and youth development nitiatives.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks, keeping track of deadlines, and supporting event coordination.
- Maintains professionalism and a positive demeanor in interactions with program participants, partners, and colleagues.
- Excels in collaborative environments and is receptive to mentorship and insights from seasoned professionals.
- Comfortable capturing, scheduling, and posting relevant Guardians CGC, and Community Impact content on department, and organizational social channels.
- Candidates with a background in playing or coaching baseball or softball at the high school or college level will find their experience beneficial for this role.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be available to start in May 2026 and continue through August 2026.
- Ability to work extended hours, days, and holidays as determined by Cleveland Guardians events calendar.
