ABOUT THE CLUB
Minnesota Aurora FC is a community-owned women’s soccer team based in the Twin Cities, with over 5,000 community owners across all 50 states and 19 countries. The team plays in the pre-professional USL W League, featuring some of the best amateur and aspiring professional players from Minnesota and around the world. The club is operated by a women-led front office and coaching staff.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS
Interns are expected to participate fully in the organization, as is required of all staff, in preparation for and during the season. Everyone is expected to be available for all home games, including pre-season exhibition games (early May) and post-season playoff games (weekends in July).

In addition, there may be other events led by your department where your attendance and support are expected (e.g., kit reveal, community owner events, inventory, season ticket-holder events, volunteer appreciation, and more).

Aurora FC understands that individual circumstances may differ. We expect clear and immediate communication if you are unable to attend an in-season event or game, or if you need to make schedule adjustments during a certain period.

To create the best possible environment where all parties feel supported, engage in deep learning, and maintain a balanced life, all interns are expected to participate in regular one-on-one meetings with their manager and attend department meetings.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This internship is part of the Minnesota Aurora FC program, which creates opportunities for individuals historically underrepresented in sports to develop professionally through hands-on, meaningful work experience that directly supports the growth and development of the club.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized intern to support operations and internal project coordination. This role provides hands-on experience while helping reduce execution and administrative workload for a small, mission-driven team.

Goal / Intended Outcome:
To strengthen team efficiency and project follow-through by maintaining organized systems, conducting focused research, and providing reliable administrative support that keeps priorities clear and work progressing.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Project Title: Project Coordination and Follow-Through
Tasks:

  • Maintain shared project trackers, timelines, and task lists
  • Prepare agendas and take notes for recurring meetings as needed
  • Track action items and follow up on next steps with internal stakeholders
  • Keep shared documents, folders, and materials organized and up to date
  • Create simple one-page summaries of projects in progress

Project Title: Research and Preparation
Tasks:

  • Conduct basic research on peer organizations, teams, or industry practices
  • Compile examples, benchmarks, or background information into short briefs
  • Support preparation for meetings, proposals, or planning discussions
  • Assist with data cleanup and simple reporting tasks

Project Title: Administrative and Office Support
Tasks:

  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail
  • Scan, file, and organize physical documents into digital systems
  • Help maintain office organization and shared workspaces
  • Update templates, internal guides, and operational documents
  • Support logistics for small projects or events as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear written communication and note-taking ability
  • Comfortable working with Google Docs, Sheets, and basic office tools
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to ask questions and propose processes

COMPENSATION
Internships with Minnesota Aurora FC are unpaid.
