Tri City Storm Operations Intern – 2026–27 Season 
The Tri-City Storm are seeking highly motivated, outgoing, and dedicated candidates for our 2026–27 season. Candidates should expect to build upon their professional experience in the fast-paced environment of junior hockey while gaining hands-on experience in sports operations and event management. 

Position Overview 
The Operations Internship Program offers hands-on experience in professional sports operations, event management, and fan experience. Interns will work closely with the Storm front office staff to assist in the planning and execution of game-day operations, special events, community initiatives, and organizational projects throughout the season. 
This internship provides valuable experience for students and recent graduates interested in pursuing careers in sports operations, event management, facility management, or professional sports administration. 

Timeline 
September 2026 – May 2027 (or through the completion of the USHL season and playoffs)

Responsibilities 
As an Operations Intern, responsibilities may include: 
  • Attend all Tri-City Storm home games throughout the season.  
  • Assist with game-day setup, execution, and post-game breakdown.  
  • Support the planning and implementation of theme nights, promotional events, and special initiatives.  
  • Assist with coordinating game presentation elements, including pregame ceremonies, anthem performers, color guards, intermission entertainment, and on-ice activities.  
  • Help manage game-day logistics and operational timelines.  
  • Assist with fan engagement activities and special event execution.  
  • Support community appearances, youth hockey events, and team outreach initiatives.  
  • Assist with merchandise inventory management, stocking, and operational support as needed.  
  • Coordinate and prepare event materials, signage, credentials, and promotional items.  
  • Support facility and arena operations before, during, and after events.  
  • Attend office hours during the week to gain experience in sports operations, event planning, business administration, and project management.  
  • Assist with administrative projects and organizational initiatives.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

Internship Requirements 
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed college.  
  • Housing and transportation in Kearney or surrounding areas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)  
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills  
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects  
  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic  
  • Previous experience in sports, events, customer service, or operations preferred  
  • Availability to work all home games, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required  

Compensation 
This is an unpaid internship. Academic credit may be available through a participating college or university for eligible students.
