Overview

The Kansas City Diamonds are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Spring Marketing & Promotions Intern from January until May to join our dynamic team. This hands-on internship provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in sports marketing, promotional strategy, and fan engagement within a professional sports organization. The intern will play a key role in developing and executing marketing initiatives, creating engaging content, and supporting our efforts to attract and retain fans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing and promotional campaigns for ticket sales, merchandise, and special events.
  • Help brainstorm and implement promotional ticket offers, theme nights, special packages, and fan incentives to enhance the game-day experience.
  • Collaborate with the ticket sales team to support promotional campaigns and fan outreach efforts.
  • Contribute to the creation of compelling graphics, videos, reels, and written posts for the team’s various marketing channels, including social media.
  • Assist in identifying potential audiences and opportunities to attract new fans and grow the team's fan base.
  • Maintain organized marketing calendars, promotional materials, and project timelines.
  • Monitor and track the performance of marketing initiatives, including engagement, reach, and other relevant metrics, to inform future strategies.
  • Support the marketing department with administrative tasks, special projects, and other departmental needs as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Business).
  • Strong interest in sports marketing, promotions, and the professional sports industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and social media platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends for events, as needed.

Compensation

This is an unpaid internship, offering valuable hands-on experience and professional development within the sports industry. College credit may be available depending on your institution's requirements.
