Overview
The Kansas City Diamonds are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Spring 2027 Sponsorship Intern to join our team from January - May. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in sports sponsorship, partnership management, and corporate relations within a professional sports organization. The intern will play a key role in supporting our partnerships, ensuring sponsor satisfaction, and contributing to the team's revenue generation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining relationships with corporate sponsors, community partners, and local businesses.
- Help execute sponsor benefits and promotions during games, events, and other team activities.
- Assist with communicating with sponsors regarding upcoming events, promotional opportunities, deliverables, and partnership updates.
- Help track sponsorship agreements, fulfillment requirements, deadlines, and promised benefits to ensure commitments are met.
- Coordinate sponsor signage, promotional tables, branded giveaways, in-game announcements, and other partnership activations on game days.
- Research potential sponsors, local businesses, and corporate partners that align with the team's brand and audience.
- Assist in preparing sponsorship decks, partnership presentations, activation ideas, and supporting sales materials.
- Help compile sponsorship performance reports, photos, engagement metrics, and post-event recaps to demonstrate partnership value.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Marketing, Business Administration, Sports Management, Communications).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on professional correspondence.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A strong interest in sports business, sales, and corporate partnerships.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends for events, as needed.

Compensation
This is an unpaid internship, offering valuable hands-on experience and professional development within the sports industry. College credit may be available depending on your institution's requirements.
