Overview

The Kansas City Diamonds are seeking a passionate and creative Spring Social Media Intern from January until May to join our team. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in sports social media, content creation, and digital marketing within a professional sports organization. The intern will play a key role in engaging our fan base, promoting the team, and contributing to our online presence across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating compelling graphics, videos, reels, and written posts for the team’s social media platforms, ensuring brand consistency and engagement.
  • Provide game-day and event coverage by capturing photos, videos, behind-the-scenes moments, and fan interactions to share across social channels.
  • Support the scheduling and publishing of content across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter).
  • Actively engage with fans by responding to comments, monitoring messages, and fostering a vibrant online community.
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends, viral sounds, and innovative sports-related content ideas to keep our presence fresh and relevant.
  • Develop and publish content featuring promotional announcements, and upcoming events.
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing social media performance metrics, including engagement, reach, views, and follower growth, to inform future content strategies.
  • Provide promotional support for ticket sales, merchandise, special events, sponsorships, and community initiatives through social media content.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, Sports Management).
  • Strong understanding and active presence on major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X).
  • Basic experience with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing tools is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Compensation

This is an unpaid internship, offering valuable hands-on experience and professional development within the sports industry. College credit may be available depending on your institution's requirements.
