ABOUT US
The Staten Island FerryHawks are dedicated to creating a vibrant, fan-first experience on and off the field. Competing in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an MLB Partner League, we play our home games at SIUH Community Park on the St. George waterfront, combining competitive professional baseball with year-round community entertainment. Our internship program gives students hands-on, educational experience alongside and under the supervision of the staff who run a professional sports organization, in their chosen area of study.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Stadium Operations Intern gains hands-on experience in how a professional ballpark is run and set up for game day. Under staff supervision, the intern learns how the facility, field, and fan areas are prepared and how a live event operation works, experience you can only get at a working stadium.
GAME-DAY COMMITMENT
This internship requires being present at designated home games. Home game dates and times are listed on the current schedule, available as a PDF on the FerryHawks website (ferryhawks.com). Call time is a minimum of 4.5 hours before first pitch and can run longer depending on the game day. Interns must be available for designated home games, including July 4th.
WHAT THE INTERN WILL EXPERIENCE AND LEARN
Under the supervision of the staff member they report to, and as part of their training, the intern will gain hands-on experience with and exposure to the following. Staff lead the work; interns learn by observing and assisting.
- Learn how the ballpark is set up and broken down for games and events.
- See how the field and facility are made game-ready with the operations and grounds staff.
- Gain exposure to how the stadium is kept clean, safe, and presentable.
- Observe how gates and fan areas are run during a game.
- Learn how special events and concerts are set up in the venue.
- Experience how a stadium operation comes together on a game day.

COMPENSATION & ACADEMIC CREDIT
This is an unpaid internship, offered for academic credit only, in conjunction with the student's school and in accordance with that school's requirements for earning credit. It is an educational training experience, not employment. The intern is not an employee for minimum wage or overtime purposes, is not guaranteed a job at the end of the internship, is free to pursue other opportunities in the field, and receives no employee benefits. The student arranges credit through their college or university, and the FerryHawks coordinate with the school and provide the documentation and supervisor sign-off the school requires.
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
