POSITION: Tournament Operations Intern

Dates: January - May, 2027

This internship is designed to focus primarily in assisting the JGAA staff in all phases of tournament operations and administration. The position will provide an opportunity to interact with junior golfers ages 8-18 and increase your knowledge in high quality event management. A great position for young individuals who seek experience in golf administration.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This intern will work closely with the JGAA Tournament Director and must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. Interest and experience in golf is preferred. 
- Assist with course marking (hole locations, yardage, penalty areas).
- Set up equipment day of tournament; registration, driving range, starters tents, signage, etc.
- Assist tournament staff with starting and scoring.
- Work with rules officials on learning rules of golf and monitoring pace of play.
- Monitor and fill coolers throughout golf course for players & volunteers.
- Assist players/parents with questions and inquiries.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft office programs
- Good communication (written, verbal, telephone) skills
- Multi-level tasking and a sense for detail are a must
-Reliable, punctual, and able to arrive early for tournaments (early mornings required)
-Comfortable working long days, and outdoors in Arizona
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team
- Must be located in Phoenix Metro area for duration of internship
- Must have own vehicle for transportation.
- Interest or experience in golf is strongly preferred
