hands-on exposure to the inner workings of collegiate athletics and recreation. Our Quaker
Interns help further Penn’s strategic goals and objectives, while in return our interns leave with
a new and unique perspective on the industry they are actively pursuing. All applicants must be
eligible to receive academic credit.
Internship Description
The Equipment Operations Intern will assist the Director of Equipment Operations in the annual
procurement of approximately $1.3 million in athletics apparel, equipment, and footwear and
will participate in activities related to the purchase, storage, issuance and return, and repair of
athletic equipment, clothing, and uniforms for the University of Pennsylvania – Division of
Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics. The intern will aid in maintaining a computerized
inventory control and POS system for all equipment room stock and will follow security
procedures to prevent inventory losses. The intern will inspect equipment for defects and assist
with maintaining accurate records to ensure equipment is properly managed and accounted
for. The intern will be expected to work approximately 20 hours per week.
