Minnesota Aurora FC is a community-owned women’s soccer team based in the Twin Cities, with over 5,000 community owners across all 50 states and 19 countries. The team plays in the pre-professional USL W League, featuring the best amateur and aspiring professional players from Minnesota and around the globe. The club is operated by a women-led front office and coaching staff.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS

Interns are expected to fully participate in the organization as required of all staff in preparation for and during the season.

  • Must be available for all home games, including pre-season exhibition games (early May) and post-season playoff games (weekends in July).
  • May be expected to attend other department-led events such as kit reveals, community owner events, inventory, season ticket-holder events, and volunteer appreciation activities.
  • Clear and immediate communication is required if you cannot attend an event or need schedule adjustments.
  • Regular one-on-one meetings with your manager and department meetings are required to ensure support, learning, and balance.

This internship is part of the Minnesota Aurora FC program, designed to create opportunities for people historically underrepresented in sports to develop professionally through hands-on, meaningful work experience that directly supports the growth and development of the club.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Title: Assist the Game Day Manager to Coordinate and Produce Game Days

Goal / Intended Outcome:
Support the Game Day Manager so all elements of producing an Aurora FC game across all departments are planned, prepared, executed, and assessed. The goal is a seamless fan experience and smooth coordination of all production elements.

Tasks:

  • Draft initial game-day scripts in collaboration with the Sponsorships/Partnerships team to ensure all contractual elements are included.
  • Communicate script questions and updates with the Game Day Manager.
  • Participate in meetings with production partners (e.g., DJ, broadcast team, video crew).
  • Prepare and organize all printed materials, radios, and production resources needed for each game.
  • Distribute production materials to relevant personnel on game days.
  • Lead the pre-production meeting (1–2 days before the match) and the day-of production meeting prior to kickoff.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all production-related questions on game days.
  • Manage radio distribution and maintain clear communication channels for real-time needs such as sponsor reads, in-game recognitions, and special moments.

Note: This position requires in-office work at least one business day prior to each game for preparation and in-person attendance at all games from setup to teardown.

COMPENSATION

Internships with Minnesota Aurora FC are unpaid.
