Role Overview
West Seattle FC is seeking an intern to support our matchday broadcast operations for the upcoming 2027 season. The position requires a detail-oriented approach to multitasking and the ability to navigate high-pressure, time-sensitive demands during live matchday windows. This role is essential to the production of live broadcasts for both West Seattle Junction FC (men’s, USL League Two) and Rhodies FC (women’s, USL W League).
Responsibilities
- Oversee and facilitate live match streams from initial technical setup to final sign-off
- Organize digital assets and prepare graphic overlays for real-time playback; perform audio and stream quality tests
- Execute gameday production scripts by managing camera transitions, integrating sponsor/commercial content, and updating live graphics
- Utilize ProductionTruck software to navigate and control the live broadcast environment
- Support pre-match logistics including Starlink internet connectivity, camera positioning, and general equipment troubleshooting
- Coordinate with matchday announcers and provide technical assistance for the stadium PA system
- Manage live audio cues and music during play, including player intros, celebratory sounds, and in-game signals
- Ensure broadcast recordings are properly archived and uploaded for post-match distribution
- Perform additional operational tasks as directed by club leadership
Qualifications
- Ease with production software and hardware, or a strong aptitude for technical learning; Experience with OBS Studio and Replay software is a plus
- Video Transmission Systems setup and operation
- Multiple Remote Camera operation
- Competence in digital workspace tools like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
- A demonstrated career interest in media production, sports broadcasting, or live entertainment
- A self-starting mentality with the capability to solve technical problems in a live setting
- Background in A/V, livestreaming, or broadcast environments is helpful but not mandatory
- Candidates for this position should possess a thorough understanding of soccer rules and gameplay.
- Full availability for all home matches, including evenings and weekends (May to July) with 5-10 hrs/month from January to April for equipment setup and testing
