ABOUT THE CLUB

Minnesota Aurora FC is a community-owned women’s soccer team based in the Twin Cities, with over 5,000 community owners across all 50 states and 19 countries. The team plays in the pre-professional USL W League, featuring top amateur and aspiring professional players from Minnesota and around the globe. The club is operated by a women-led front office and coaching staff.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS

Interns are expected to actively participate in the organization, as required of all staff, in preparation for and during the season. All interns must be available for:

  • Pre-season exhibition games (early May)
  • All home games
  • Post-season playoff games (weekends in July)

Additionally, interns may be required to attend and support department-led events such as:

  • Kit reveals
  • Community owner events
  • Inventory organization
  • Season ticket-holder events
  • Volunteer appreciation events

Minnesota Aurora FC understands that individual circumstances may differ; however, clear and timely communication is expected if you are unable to attend events or require schedule adjustments.

To support a productive and balanced environment, interns are expected to:

  • Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with their manager
  • Attend department meetings

POSITION OVERVIEW

This internship is part of the Minnesota Aurora FC program, designed to create opportunities for individuals historically underrepresented in sports to gain hands-on, meaningful experience that directly contributes to the club’s growth and development.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

1. Website Support and Digital Analytics

Manager: Maeve Gimpl
Department: Marketing
Duration: Mid-April – Mid-July

Goal / Intended Outcome:
Strengthen Aurora’s digital presence by maintaining an accurate, engaging website that drives fan engagement and revenue.

Tasks:

  • Update game information, news, rosters, and promotions
  • Assist with landing pages and seasonal updates
  • Review website content for accuracy and consistency
  • Support basic analytics and SEO tasks
  • Update game-day content and post-game recaps
  • Assist with urgent sporting updates as needed

2. Admin and Data Support

Manager: Maeve Gimpl
Department: Marketing
Duration: May 1 – Mid-July

Goal / Intended Outcome:
Develop operational and analytical skills while supporting the marketing team through organization, data tracking, and reporting.

Tasks:

  • Maintain shared drives, documents, and calendars
  • Collect and log marketing, ticketing, and engagement data
  • Assist with reporting and insights generation
  • Provide general administrative support
  • Track game-day attendance and promotional data
  • Support post-game reports and internal recaps

COMPENSATION

This internship is unpaid.
