Minnesota Aurora FC is a community-owned women’s soccer team based in the Twin Cities, with over 5,000 community owners across all 50 states and 19 countries. The team plays in the pre-professional USL W League, featuring top amateur and aspiring professional players from Minnesota and around the globe. The club is operated by a women-led front office and coaching staff.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS

Interns are expected to actively participate in the organization, as required of all staff, in preparation for and during the season. All interns must be available for:

  • Pre-season exhibition games (early May)
  • All home games
  • Post-season playoff games (weekends in July)

Additionally, interns may be required to attend and support department-led events such as:

  • Kit reveals
  • Community owner events
  • Inventory organization
  • Season ticket-holder events
  • Volunteer appreciation events

Minnesota Aurora FC understands that individual circumstances may differ; however, clear and timely communication is expected if you are unable to attend events or require schedule adjustments.

To support a productive and balanced environment, interns are expected to:

  • Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with their manager
  • Attend department meetings

POSITION OVERVIEW

This role is entirely matchday-focused and ideal for someone who wants to be deeply involved in the behind-the-scenes execution of live events.

As a Partnerships Activation Coordinator, you will assist with a wide range of partnership-related responsibilities leading up to matches and on matchday. Tasks may vary significantly and shift quickly based on real-time needs, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to step in wherever support is needed.

Goal / Intended Outcome:
Serve as a liaison between the Director of Partnerships and other partnership interns while supporting the execution of sponsorship activations and matchday operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Matchday Partner Execution

  • Support execution of partner commitments and experiences on matchday
  • Assist with on-field, concourse, and behind-the-scenes partner activations
  • Ensure partner elements are accurate, timely, and aligned with run-of-show schedules
  • Collaborate with Partnerships, Marketing, and Game Day teams

General Matchday Support

  • Assist with various tasks including setup, coordination, organization, and documentation
  • Support teammates across different areas as needed
  • Adapt quickly to last-minute updates and shifting priorities

Attention to Detail & Quality Control

  • Ensure small details are executed correctly, recognizing their impact on partner experience
  • Identify and communicate potential issues early
  • Help maintain high standards for all activations and deliverables

Communication & Teamwork

  • Follow directions clearly and execute assigned tasks
  • Ask questions when instructions are unclear
  • Communicate proactively when additional support or clarification is needed
  • Contribute to a collaborative and positive team environment
