ABOUT THE CLUB

Minnesota Aurora FC is a community-owned women’s soccer team based in the Twin Cities, with over 5,000 community owners across all 50 states and 19 countries. The team plays in the pre-professional USL W League, featuring top amateur and aspiring professional players from Minnesota and around the globe. The club is operated by a women-led front office and coaching staff.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS

Interns are expected to actively participate in the organization, as required of all staff, in preparation for and during the season. All interns must be available for:

  • Pre-season exhibition games (early May)
  • All home games
  • Post-season playoff games (weekends in July)

Additionally, interns may be required to attend and support department-led events such as:

  • Kit reveals
  • Community owner events
  • Inventory organization
  • Season ticket-holder events
  • Volunteer appreciation events

Minnesota Aurora FC understands that individual circumstances may differ; however, clear and timely communication is expected if you are unable to attend events or require schedule adjustments.

To support a productive and balanced environment, interns are expected to:

  • Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with their manager
  • Attend department meetings

POSITION OVERVIEW

This internship is part of the Minnesota Aurora FC program, designed to create opportunities for individuals historically underrepresented in sports to gain hands-on, meaningful experience that directly contributes to the club’s growth and development.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Capture and Analyze 2026 Match Statistics

Manager: Jen Larrick
Department: Sporting
Duration: May – July

Goal / Intended Outcome:
Support the coaching staff and players by ensuring match statistics are accurately recorded, organized, and readily accessible throughout the season.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet with coaching staff to understand the team’s game model
  • Become familiar with statistical tools (e.g., Spiideo)
  • Collaborate with coaches to determine which statistics will be tracked
  • Create:
    • A running, season-long statistics report
    • Individual reports for each game
  • Attend home games and track stats from the press box (including halftime requests)
  • Watch and track stats for away games via live stream
  • Re-watch games as needed to gather additional data
  • Deliver timely and accurate reports to coaching staff after each game
  • Collaborate effectively with a team of three interns on statistics tracking

Note:

  • Coaches will present findings to players
  • Interns are not required to present to the team
  • Full availability for all games (home and away viewing) is required

This internship is unpaid.
