ABOUT THE CLUB

Minnesota Aurora FC is a community-owned women’s soccer team based in the Twin Cities, with over 5,000 community owners across all 50 states and 19 countries. The team competes in the pre-professional USL W League, showcasing top amateur and aspiring professional players from Minnesota and around the world. The club is operated by a women-led front office and coaching staff.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS

Interns are expected to:

  • Participate fully in the organization, as required of all staff
  • Be available for all home games, including pre-season exhibition games (early May) and post-season playoff games (weekends in July)
  • Support department-led events, including kit reveals, community owner events, inventory, season ticket-holder events, and volunteer appreciation events

Aurora FC emphasizes clear and immediate communication if an intern cannot attend an event or requires schedule adjustments. Interns are also expected to participate in regular one-on-one meetings with their manager and department meetings.

This internship is designed for individuals historically underrepresented in sports, offering hands-on experience that directly supports the club’s growth and development.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

General Ticket Sales Intern

Department: Ticketing
Dates: March – July

Goal / Intended Outcome:
Increase overall ticket sales while ensuring a seamless and positive experience for ticket holders and attendees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct cold calls to local businesses and previous attendees to promote ticket sales
  • Make customer service calls to individual ticket buyers
  • Serve as the main contact for special ticketing requests
  • Assist with new promotions and theme nights to boost ticket sales
  • Help distribute tickets before and during the season
  • Track all tasks and orders in the ticketing/CRM system, ensuring consistent follow-up
  • Assist with delivery of team materials
  • On game days, support inbound and walk-in ticket orders and staff the ticket window as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times

IDEAL QUALITIES

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear written communication and note-taking abilities
  • Comfort using Google Docs, Sheets, and basic office tools
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to ask questions and propose process improvements
