Join the Gateway Grizzlies Professional Baseball Team as a Promotions/Community Relations Intern for the Fall 2025 season! The internship offers students the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in professional sports through our dynamic internship program. The internship runs from August to December. The Gateway Grizzlies are located in Sauget, IL and have been a part of the Frontier League since 2001. We are celebrating our 25th Anniversary this season. The Grizzlies returned to the playoffs for the second consecutive year in 2024!
Qualifications:
  • Must be for college credit
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. 
  • Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, outgoing, and energetic 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment  
  • Must be comfortable in front of large crowds 
  • Able to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks 
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) 
  • Must be willing and able to lift items up to 50 lbs. for set up and take down of games and events 
  • Must have a car and driverโ€™s license 
  • Flexible to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays 
Responsibilities: 
  • Promote the Grizzlies organization throughout the community as a member of the โ€œstreet teamโ€ 
  • Represent Grizzlies at events such as parades and community activities 
  • Schedule and coordinate mascot appearances and events (be available for community appearances with or as the mascot) 
  • Assist in the implementation of activities including: On-field promotional items and props, pre-game giveaways, post-game activities, and upkeep of promotional items/equipment, etc.
  • Develop and write scripts and game intros for the public announcer as well as the game emcee. 
  • Assist in the planning and execution of promotion theme nights and mid-inning games 
  • Research, create, produce, and implement fun on-field games for adults and children. 
  • Answer phone calls & everyday questions about the Gateway Grizzlies organization
Compensation: 
  • Unpaid internship 
  • Candidates can work games and extra events for compensation at an hourly rate. 
  • Housing is not provided for the internship (Applicants should consider the Greater St. Louis Area for housing)
