Intern / Assistant Football Coach

Primary Function:
The Intern / Assistant Football Coach will have their own position to coach and will be involved in day-to-day activities of a D-III football program.  Responsible for assisting the coaching staff with all aspects of the program including but not limited to recruiting, teaching duties, and additional tasks as assigned.

Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Assist a Football Coordinator with different aspects of on-the-field coaching.
  • Assist with game-day assignments and duties.
  • Assist with student-athlete recruiting within assigned recruiting area.
  • Provide customer services to student athletes, faculty and administration, parents, fans, community, and media.
  • Assist head coach by knowing and abiding by conference guidelines and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Assist head coach in initiating changes that will improve the quality of the program and the experience of the student-athlete.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform general duties to ensure the quality, safety, and the development of the program and the experience of the student-athlete.
  • Support a welcoming College environment.
  • Complete duties as assigned by head coach or other assistants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Athletics.
Qualifications:

Education, Certifications, Training, Experience:
  • Bachelor degree required; master's degree preferred
  • Previous successful college/high school playing and or coaching/teaching experience preferred
  • Video editing experience preferred
Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:
  • Ability to coach, teach, and recruit within the philosophy of Division III athletics and a liberal arts institution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the game
  • Dedication to the development of the total student-athlete
  • Strong communication and interaction skills
  • Strong computer skills
