Summer Innovation and Marketing Intern
Salary: $18/hour
Duration: 12 Weeks (Summer 2025)
Location: YMCA of Greater Cincinnati +remote
Summary: The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati is seeking a highly motivated, independent, and mission aligned Summer Intern to support our innovation and marketing efforts. This internship provides hands-on experience in business modeling, marketing strategy, and innovation design within a dynamic nonprofit environment.
Key Project Goal
The intern will support the YMCA’s strategic innovation pipeline by researching and identifying a quantitative marketing or research firm to help assess the business viability of new concepts. Additionally, the intern will provide support to the marketing team’s ongoing work—including project coordination, insight gathering, and campaign support.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify firms with expertise in concept validation, consumer research, and social impact business modeling
- Assist in outreach and vetting of firms; support proposal development or vendor onboarding
- Contribute to the development of innovation concept cards, with a focus on feasibility, scalability, and revenue modeling
- Collaborate with the marketing team on campaign planning, audience research, and content coordination
- Attend innovation and marketing team meetings, synthesize key insights, and track progress across workstreams
- Deliver a final presentation or report summarizing research findings and recommendations

- Be self-directed, organized, and an exceptional communicator, both written and verbal
- Be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in marketing, business, nonprofit management, or related field
