About This Role:
The USGA is looking for 5 interns to provide support for USGA Championships during the 2026 season. This internship offers extensive training to prepare for a career in golf administration and is a great way to gain valuable experience in Sports Management, Golf Administration, Volunteer Management and Customer Service.
Extensive travel during the season will be required to assist at multiple championships (estimated 40-50 days). Relocation to New Jersey is not required, however local candidates will benefit from additional networking and in-person opportunities by working out of USGA Headquarters. All successful candidates will be invited to attend a one-week orientation at the USGA Headquarters at the start of the internship. There will be an opportunity to attend scheduled meetings, receive training, and meet with staff members across different departments.
What You Can Expect:
The USGA Championships Department is a motivated team focused on providing a first-class experience to competitors, fans and Allied Golf Associations (AGA’s). Championship Interns will be exposed to a wide range of Sports Management skills such as Event Operations, Player Relations, Business Analytics, Communication and Volunteer Management.

Championship Interns will be expected to work a 40-hour work week throughout the internship, as well as travel to 3-5 championships throughout the summer. On-site work weeks may exceed 40 hours, with additional hours to include holidays and weekends. Interns will also be required to travel to the USGA in Liberty Corner, New Jersey for training.
All travel expenses will be covered by the USGA and the intern is not expected to live in the New Jersey area; however, reasonable access to a domestic airport is required.
If candidates are local or choose to reside in New Jersey, the opportunity to work from Golf House on a hybrid schedule when not traveling will be available and is highly encouraged.
