Position Overview:
The Sandhills Bogeys are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Baseball Analytics Intern to assist in collecting and analyzing player data throughout the season. This intern will be responsible for tracking game statistics digitally using BaseballShift and providing valuable insights to the coaching staff. This hands-on opportunity is ideal for students or aspiring analysts looking to gain experience in baseball analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and input real-time game data using BaseballShift during all home games.
- Assist the coaching staff in analyzing player performance and game trends.
- Compile post-game reports and provide insights based on collected data.
- Identify patterns and trends to support strategic in-game decisions.
- Work closely with coaches and players to communicate analytical findings.
- Stay up to date on industry trends in baseball analytics and technology.
Qualifications:
- Passion for baseball and strong knowledge of the game’s rules and strategies.
- Experience with baseball statistics and analytics tools (BaseballShift experience is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to track data in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or other data analysis software is a plus.
- Ability to work nights and weekends for home games.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
