ABOUT MLBPI

MLB Players, Inc. (MLBPI) is the for-profit corporate subsidiary tasked with managing all commercial activities of the Major League Baseball Players Association. MLBPI brings to market products and services featuring the publicity rights (name/image/likeness) of our Players. With 100+ global partners, MLBPI negotiates agreements to ensure that there are Player products for every fan. 

 

Our business’ scope extends to licensing, sponsorship, media, events and beyond. We engage with best-in-class partners that feature and promote Players, using our resources to ensure we approve only those products or services that use Players in products of high quality, and are reflective of a positive Player “brand.”  

 

OVERVIEW

We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Business Intern to support our Licensing and Sponsorship teams. This role is ideal for recent college graduates interested in hands-on experience in sports, licensing and sponsorship and player marketing. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Licensing

  • Conduct market research, trend analysis, and social media monitoring to identify potential opportunities in the licensed merchandise space.
  • Assist with the coordination and tracking of Player licensing agreements.
  • Support the Quality Assurance team as needed, reviewing and approving licensee artwork and marketing material submissions.
  • Contribute to special projects, prepare license presentations, maintain an active licensee tracker to reflect renewals and new agreements, and other ad-hoc assignments.

Player Marketing

  • Circulate clearance notices to agents to ensure Players do not have conflicts with sponsor activation programs. 
  • Support the Quality Assurance team as needed, reviewing and approving licensee artwork and marketing material submissions.

Sponsorship

  • Conduct research on MLB player sponsorship activity, trends, and social performance.
  • Assist with sales narratives by building PowerPoint decks and creating player-led storytelling slides.
  • Support player marketing highlight reels by compiling brand activity and social media engagement.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recent college graduate with a record of excellent academic achievement.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills.
  • A passion and understanding of everything baseball, especially MLB players.
  • Strong writing skills, excellent communicator, team-player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Salary: $20.00 per hour
