USA Triathlon Intern
Summary:
The USA Triathlon (USAT) Customer Care Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the operations of a National Governing Body (NGB). This internship is specifically designed to immerse participants in the dynamic multisport industry, provide meaningful engagement with a wide range of diverse constituent groups, and offer insight into building a lasting career within the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.
As a Customer Care Intern, you will work closely with the Constituent Relationship Coordinator(s) and the broader Constituent Relations (CR) team to support all USAT constituent groups, including members, clubs, race directors, and coaches. This role is instrumental in helping constituents become passionate advocates for USAT by empowering them to fully realize the value of their investment in USAT certifications.
Primary responsibilities include delivering excellent customer service by responding to constituent questions and concerns with speed, accuracy, and professionalism. Interns will have the opportunity to develop and apply skills across various functions, including customer service, project development, administrative support, writing and editing, data management, and inventory management.
This is a well-rounded and career-focused internship suited for individuals looking to grow within an expanding and innovative department. It is ideal for candidates who excel in communication and relationship-building across a wide variety of client groups. The ideal intern is energetic, self-confident, and capable of promoting USAT services while serving its growing community. Additionally, this internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in Salesforce.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Learn the daily functions of the Constituent Relationships department.
  • Cross-training of other areas of the organization, but primary focus is customer service.
  • Assist the Constituent Relationships department by responding to constituent ticket inquiries and answering phone calls and routing constituents to the appropriate department/resource to resolve issues and best service the constituent.
  • Outbound phone calls to constituent groups for sanctioning and post race needs.
  • Liaise with internal teams to develop and ensure accuracy of constituent communications and overall synthesis into organizational strategic plans.
  • Other duties may arise during the course of this internship based on business needs 
Qualifications:
  • Educational Requirements:  Enrolled in an Associates or Bachelor program (great entryway into the sports industry)
  • Extremely personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point & Outlook.
  • Passion for sport and the Ideals of the Olympic Movement
  • Familiarity with multisport preferred but not required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment as part of a team atmosphere, including effective coordination with members of other departments
