Responsibilities
Overview
The Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL are searching for a PAID Digital & Social Media Intern for the 2025-26 season. This position requires a candidate to be motivated to create professional relationships & engaging content to help build the K-Wings brand through social media creativity and execution. The right candidate will interact with players, coaches, staff, and media members during the season-long position (October thru April / end of season).
Strong writing skills and efficiency in Adobe Suite & mobile-based editing platforms are preferred. This position directly reports to the Director of Public Relations & Broadcasting.
What You’ll Be Doing
May include, but not limited to:
- Hone and improve the skills needed to work in a professional team’s digital & sports production department: writing, producing, editing, interviewing, scheduling, organic social media growth & management
- Work odd hours with motivation and efficiency during weekly scheduling
- Create graphics (from templates or design) & assist in managing team website
- Learn to live-cut and send updates to fanbase via social media
- Maintain and procure social posting schedule established systems and processes
- Assist with a multitude of production and administrative duties throughout the 2025-2026 ECHL season
- Set yourself up for the next step in your sports digital/social career
Qualifications
What You Need for this Position
- Team player who operates well in a dynamic, all-hands-on-deck environment
- Strong motivation to take the next step in a professional sports career
- Elite idea generator, ability to think creatively and innovatively as a digital storyteller
- Maintain a high level of motivation; self-starter
- Base knowledge of professional hockey & social media voice
- Motivated attitude and professional appearance
- Background in Adobe Creative (Photoshop, Premiere and After Effects)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be available from September thru the end of the season (including playoffs)
