Job Title: Fall Intern – Special Events
Reports To: Manager, Special Events
Location: Spartanburg, SC
Hours: Full-time; includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Start/End Dates: September – December (flexible based on academic calendar)
Compensation: College credit (if applicable) and hourly wage; housing not provided

Position Overview:
The Fall Intern – Special Events will assist in the selling, planning, coordination, and execution of non-game day events at the ballpark, including corporate outings, community events, private rentals, and more. This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in event management within the dynamic environment of Minor League Baseball.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with on-site event operations for non-baseball events at Fifth Third Park.
- Support event processes including but not limited to client walkthroughs, pre-event planning, set-up, execution, and tear down.
- Participate in internal meetings, venue tours, and client communications as needed.
- Help gather and maintain event details to ensure all necessary departments have accurate event information.
- Help manage event inventory and supplies
- Assist with other duties assigned, including helping other internal departments with events and/or home games and tarp pulls as needed
- Represent the Spartanburgers professionally and enthusiastically in all interactions with clients, partners, vendors and fans
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Sports Management, or a related field
- Available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods during events.
- Previous event or customer service experience is a plus
