Description

Have you ever wondered what it takes to work for an NBA team? Do you have at least three (3) years of experience working or formally volunteering in elite youth, collegiate, or professional basketball โ€“ or playing at the collegiate or professional level? Are you interested in gaining exposure to basketball leaders and professionals? Are you eager to build your network within the basketball community? If soโ€ฆ this is the program for you!

Now entering its fourth season, the NBA Future Basketball Operations Stars (FBOS) program is designed to develop and pipeline future leaders for job opportunities across the basketball ecosystem by educating and mentoring early career basketball professionals.

FBOS provides participants with opportunities to learn about the various components of basketball operations from industry experts and leaders. Participants will be mentored by league office executives and participate in sessions designed to spark self-awareness and highlight behaviors and skills that contribute to success within basketball operations.

The FBOS development program for the 2025-2026 season consists of virtual training sessions that will take place over 5 months. Upon the completion of the virtual development program, the league office will identify and select the top FBOS participants for short-term in-person career development opportunities with the league office.

Learn from Leading Basketball Operations Professionals

Participants will learn about on-court player development, off-court player development, scouting, roster construction, basketball analytics and technology, salary cap management, the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and professional development. You will gain real-world insight through team chats, mentorship sessions and projects to hone your knowledge and skills.
