Do you want to work for a Championship organization? We have the job for you! The Miami HEAT Broadcast Services team is seeking to hire an Intern! The intern will gain real-world experience in the sports and entertainment industry and learn how shows and events are executed at the Kaseya Center. The Intern will be the right hand to Broadcast Services learning the ropes for events, equipment storage and repairs, and more through observational learning and hands-on training. Interns will work with engineers and technicians specializing in audio/visual, lighting, staging and networking in the arena and at remotes. Interns will assist the Broadcast Services department in all types of day to day operations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The following are examples of the various essential functions required for duties and responsibilities. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.

  • Interns will understand all aspects of the audio visual and event services.
  • Assist with Audio visual technologies, communication tools and other conference support
  • Manage and operate AV equipment for meetings and events
  • Work with departments to help coordinate events
  • Assist with A/V setup for basketball and special events here at the arena and remote.
  • Assist with the organization and care of Broadcast Services equipment and storage.
  • Assist with day-to-day equipment maintenance.
  • Set up A/V equipment for events, corporate presentations, meetings and webinars. Learn to operate Broadcast Services equipment.
  • Assist with maintaining a parts inventory.
  • Assist engineers with troubleshooting of A/V systems.
  • Assist with general office duties including data entries, phones, and filing.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Broadcast Services Manager

  • Familiarity with Audio systems including mics, speakers, and mixers.
  • Familiarity with Video systems such as TVโ€™s and Monitors
  • Familiarity with Theatrical Lighting or Lighting for sets is a plus
  • Familiarity with Computer Networking and simple programming
  • Must possess basic computer skills: knowledge of Word/Excel/Internet Explorer
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud Programs is a plus
  • Knowledge of the game of basketball, sports, and entertainment.
  • Must have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Keep a professional demeanor with the ability to get along with players, coaches, celebrities, fans, staff members, and front-office executives
  • Teamwork mentality
  • Ability to read and speak English is required
  • Previous experience with AV is preferred

Education and/or Experience

Current enrollment in a college or university is required. Working towards a Bachelorโ€™s Degree, Associateโ€™s Degree, and/or Technical Certificate in Broadcasting/Television Production, Theatrical/Live Production, Event Management, or Hospitality Management preferred.
