Intern, Guest Services
Intern Requirements:
- Must be a junior, senior, postgraduate student pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university, or within a year post graduation with preferred majors of Sports Management, Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field. (If you do not meet the internship requirements, please do not apply.)
- Ability to work in-person in Phoenix, Arizona from March 2026 โ October 2026
- Maximum of 30 hours per week
Job PurposeThe Guest Services Internship role is to provide support to the Guest Services department. In doing so, the Intern will gain a deep understanding of guest and event operations while learning valuable skills to assist them in their future career
Primary Duties
- Help coordinate game-related events and activities.
- Support our A-Game All-Star program (Recognition Program) for our game day staff.
- Assist in creating monthly schedules for Guest Services and Guest Relations staff.
- Prepare/Distribute staff assignments and pertinent game information for game day staff.
- Assist in post-event bill preparation.
- Maintain game day staff database.
- Help manage Lost and Found by logging in lost items and responding to messages and guest inquiries.
- Assist with ballpark preparedness (walkthroughs, setup, and assisting Operations staff).
- Aid in the creation of training documents and presentations.
- Help with the facilitation of training to newly hired and returning game day staff.
- Administrative duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills, friendly, outgoing personality
- Excellent communication skills (written, phone and face-to-face)
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong ability to work well in a team environment
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance.
- Ability to remain calm and focused during a fast pace environment
- Ability to exercise sound judgment to diffuse volatile situations
- Ability to memorize the layout of Chase field in order to answer guestโs general questions (seating sections, restrooms, concession stands, novelty shops, and other facility services and amenities)
- Basic knowledge of ADA protocols and policies preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Flexible schedule (variety of shifts) to include weekends, evenings, some holidays, and some overtime to meet business needs
- Minimum of 20 hours per week
- Ability to stand for the entire shift (generally 6 hours but could be extended due to the nature of our business. i.e. extra innings, dual events)
- Ability to walk throughout Chase Field, up and down stairs, aisles, and on uneven surfaces (ramps)
- Ability to bend, work in high elevations (all levels of the ballpark) and enclosed spaces (including elevators)
- Must be comfortable working in large crowds. Noise levels in the work environment are frequently loud.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors-May be exposed to all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
