Internship Objective:
The Atlanta Gladiators are currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and talented individual to serve as the Maximus the Lion Mascot Seasonal Intern during the 2025–2026 season. The ideal candidate will perform as Maximus the Lion, the official mascot of the Atlanta Gladiators. Candidates must have previous mascot performance experience, excellent non-verbal communication skills, be athletically and physically fit, and possess a creative and humorous personality.
Key Responsibilities:
The Atlanta Gladiators are currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and talented individual to serve as the Maximus the Lion Mascot Seasonal Intern during the 2025–2026 season. The ideal candidate will perform as Maximus the Lion, the official mascot of the Atlanta Gladiators. Candidates must have previous mascot performance experience, excellent non-verbal communication skills, be athletically and physically fit, and possess a creative and humorous personality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform as Maximus the Lion at various events across the Greater Atlanta area, including (but not limited to) special events, watch parties, corporate partner appearances, festivals, parades, school visits, and community outreach programs.
- Help market and promote Maximus the Lion’s appearances through creative and engaging content.
- Contact schools, churches, nursing homes, and daycare centers to schedule Maximus programs and appearances.
- Maintain and execute mascot appearances during games, including in-game seat visits, intermission performances, coordination with A/V control, and participation in promotional activities.
- Collaborate on social media content creation and participate in videos featuring the mascot. Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends is required.
- Assist with transporting, maintaining, and preparing all mascot-related props and costume elements.
- Ensure Maximus has all necessary supplies for each appearance (e.g., sharpies, promo photos, t-shirts, stickers, etc.).
- Contribute to the development of new revenue opportunities tied to the Maximus the Lion brand.
Work closely with the Community Engagement team and Front Office staff to ensure successful mascot execution and event planning.

- Must live in or near the Greater Atlanta area.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds and perform in a full-body mascot suit for extended periods.
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation required for travel to events within the Atlanta area.
- Previous experience performing as a mascot is required.
- Must be comfortable entertaining and engaging with large crowds in high-energy environments.
- Required to attend all Atlanta Gladiators home games at Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Responsible for maintaining the mascot’s booking calendar and coordinating logistics for all appearances.

- Well-organized, self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Professional, friendly, and outgoing personality with strong fan engagement skills.
- Comfortable performing in front of large audiences and interacting one-on-one with fans of all ages.
- Passionate about the Atlanta Gladiators, hockey, and community involvement.
- Ability to speak confidently when needed and work collaboratively with the larger Game Ops and Marketing teams.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
