Main goal

The UEFA Media Rights and Broadcaster Services unit manages the exploitation of all UEFA's media rights and the account management of UEFA’s broadcast partners for all UEFA’s national team competitions.

The Media Rights and Broadcaster Services Intern reports to the Media Rights Specialist and supports the unit with the proper implementation of:

  • media rights strategies, ensuring revenue optimisation and a broad distribution platform for UEFA competitions;
  • communication with and information flows relating to UEFA’s broadcast partners with a client-centric approach; and
  • unilateral broadcast services for UEFA broadcast partners, including the allocation of resources and scheduling as well as general account management.

Key responsibilities

  • Licensing of archive footage

-Handling daily archive licensing sales, servicing and contract management

-Collaborating with colleagues in the legal and TV production teams and externally with national associations, broadcasters, production companies and agencies as required

-On completion of the internship: suggesting improvements to the overall process and strategy of UEFA’s direct archive footage sales

  • Media rights sales for youth, women’s and futsal competitions

-Providing administrative support to the Media Rights Specialist in relation to the sale of the remaining rights to UEFA’s youth, women’s and futsal competitions

-Monitoring national associations’ exploitation of media rights and providing follow-up or account management as required

Broadcaster information

  • Information/communication

-Analysing statistics on UEFA’s current information/communication tools

-Benchmarking these tools against those of other major sports organisations (FIFA, HBS, the IOC, etc.)

-Researching information/communication technologies and trends

-On completion of the internship: presenting insights and recommendations for improvements to UEFA’s communication with its broadcast partners

  • General support

-Helping with the organisation of workshops, including with guest management, remote access, signage and the IT set-up

-Managing VISTA Portal access requests from UEFA broadcast partners

-Ensuring consistency across UEFA’s current information/communication tools

Unilateral broadcast services

  • Front office

-Compiling and updating information from UEFA’s national team competitions agency (CAA Eleven) and other UEFA divisions

-Helping with administrative tasks as needed

-Providing general support with the account management of UEFA broadcast partners

  • Back office

-Cross-checking documents and allocating services

-Issuing operational reports

-On completion of the internship: analysing the booking tool used by UEFA broadcast partners and providing recommendations for improvements
