Circle: Motor City Cruise

Status (E/NE; FT/PT): Non-Exempt; Intern

Reports to: Game Presentation Manager, MCC

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week + nights, holidays and weekends as needed.

As the Motor City Cruise, Game Presentation Graduate Associate, you will learn the core proficiencies of game presentation and marketing while supporting Detroitโ€™s very own G-League team! We are seeking a team member with a positive, upbeat outlook that can lead and connect with a diverse population!

What youโ€™ll be doing:

  • Serve as lead tunnel stage manager for all Motor City Cruise home games, ensuring a smooth operation between part-time staff, entertainers, and full-time employees for all on-court activations
  • Assist in writing and editing scripts for in-game promotions, fan engagement activities, and other game-day activations
  • Create content for the video board, including graphics and fan prompts that align with the game-day experience.
  • Work with the group sales team to coordinate and execute in-game promotions for large groups at pregame, halftime, and recognitions/activations within the game.
  • Assist in the booking and  coordination of halftime entertainment and anthem performers including  sending logistic information and creation of performer list for future opportunities
  • Gather and send out all credentials, parking info, and any other logistical needs for Game Ops guests and performers
  • Coordinate the setup and breakdown of game-day materials, including banners, signage, and other props
  • Responsible for all prizing and giveaway inventory for in-game activations and special events
  • Assist Mascot with gameday and  appearance needs, serving as mascot or handler when needed
  • Research new and innovative ideas across the NBA and NBA G League to advance our best practices, processes, and creative ideas

What weโ€™re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree required from a college or university in related field (preferred)
  • Six months to one -year of marketing, sports/entertainment, and/or game presentation
  • Ability to be onsite M-F, holidays, weekends, and nights as needed for full program duration
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and display critical thinking skills 
  • Must be flexible and eager to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide your own  housing throughout the duration of the internship with reliable transportation to and from The Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center and Wayne State University Fieldhouse.
