Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our team, focusing on Sports Business Development, Sales, and Community Outreach. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in the dynamic world of professional sports, with exposure to sales strategy, community engagement, and event operations. This internship is eligible for school credit and offers potential commission for assisting in closed sales.
Responsibilities
- Assist with business development initiatives and community outreach to prospective partners
- Support ticket sales campaigns and sponsorship efforts
- Perform administrative tasks including CRM updates, lead tracking, and follow-up communications
- Attend networking events, games, and community activations to represent the organization
- Provide on-site support at events when available, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for clients and guests
- Assist with storytelling and data collection by gathering impact metrics, fan engagement feedback, and community outreach results to help highlight the value of Oilers partnerships and programs
- Support the work of the Oilers Foundation, including fundraising events, community programs, and day-of-event logistics
Ideal Candidate
- Enrolled in a college or university program (Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Comfortable engaging with community members and potential clients
- Available to work some evenings and weekends
- Passionate about sports and community engagement
