About the Columbus River Dragons
The Columbus River Dragons, members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) since 2019, are a professional hockey team located in Columbus, Georgia. Position Summary
The Ticket Operations Intern will assist with the daily functions of the ticketing department, providing support in sales, customer service, and box office operations. This role is ideal for students seeking real-world experience in sports business, fan engagement, and ticket sales while working within a professional sports environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the processing, printing, and distribution of season, group, and individual game tickets.
- Support the day-to-day operation of the box office, including data entry, filing, and administrative duties.
- Serve as a customer service liaison on game nights, resolving ticket-related issues and ensuring a positive fan experience.
- Help manage the Ticketmaster system, including account management, order tracking, and ticket manifest updates.
- Collaborate with the Ticketing and Sales teams to fulfill group orders, promotions, and partner ticket packages.
- Assist in the creation of ticketing reports and help track key metrics such as attendance, revenue, and ticket scans.
- Support will-call operations, payment processing, and digital ticket troubleshooting.
- Maintain inventory of ticketing materials and assist in organizing seating charts and customer records.
- Contribute to the execution of ticketing strategies designed to increase attendance and fan satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for providing great customer service.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel; knowledge of Ticketmaster is a plus.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and all home games.
- Interest in sports business, event operations, or ticketing preferred.
- Ability to handle sensitive customer information with professionalism and discretion.
- This is not a paid internship, but may be used for course credit.
- 17+ years of age.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in a ticketing, box office, or event services environment.
- Familiarity with Ticketmaster and CRM platforms.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Passion for live events, hockey, and creating memorable fan experiences.
