Reports to: Digital Staff Based at: PPG Paints Arena, 1001 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 Job Description: The Pittsburgh Penguins are currently seeking an intern from September 2025-December 2025 to assist with social media, photography, website management, content curation, and digital marketing projects. Requirements: This internship is onsite at the Pittsburgh Penguins offices at PPG Paints Arena and is open to students entering their junior or senior year in college, with 20-25 hours of flexible availability each week. The internship is paid hourly at the rate of $10 per hour. Students remain eligible for earning course credits for their internship and will be responsible for ensuring that the internship meets the criteria of their program and/or university. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Assist in photography efforts for Penguins’ social media and website. Capture and collect engaging in-game fan content for use on Penguins’ digital channels at home games – photos, videos, and interviews with fans
Create graphics and edit short-form video content for the Penguins social channels
Assist with drafting and brainstorming content for the Penguins’ social networks
Assist with management and maintenance on nhl.com/penguins
Prepare one-pagers on social media trends and changes to social networks
Assist with photo management and tagging of players
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in digital media, sports management, marketing, communications, multi-media journalism or related field
Required: Must have completed sophomore year
Preferred Technical Skills: Familiarity DSLR cameras, social media best practices, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Bridge, etc.)
Preferred: Outgoing personality, strong hockey knowledge and familiarity with the NHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins
