RESPONSIBILITES:
 
Taking direction from the Marketing Coordinator, this role will support facilitation of marketing and communications strategies for the organization, including:
  • Creating social media content (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram reels, stories, etc.) to further storytelling and engagement on SIYMCA social media accounts
  • Researching and drafting posts for the SIYMCA social media accounts
  • Researching, interviewing, and authoring content for marketing collateral
  • Actively contributing ideas to reach new audiences and strengthen community engagement
  • Help to coordinate and execute community engagement initiatives and special events, sometimes requiring onsite attendance
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned or required. 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Currently enrolled high school student and registered with Indiana Work & Learn account
  • Aspirations of working in the field of Marketing and appropriate coursework toward this path.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and detail oriented. Ability to organize and prioritize projects efficiently with tight deadlines
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; occasionally stoop/bend.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Experience with using social media platforms in a professional setting, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (i.e. managing school club or brand accounts)
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Creative, flexible, self-directed, problem solver with an attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • Ability to take and apply project feedback quickly
  • Must be able to work in-person approximately 3 days a week totaling 8-15 hours per week
  • Must have personal vehicle to travel during work hours for photo and video shoots or to pick up/drop off promotional materials
  • Ability to attend some events outside of work hours (nights and weekends) for onsite video and photography required.
