Augusta National Golf Club’s Tournament Department is seeking an experienced Intern to be a valuable contributor to the success of the Masters Tournament, a global sporting event and one of golf’s four majors. The Masters Tournament Intern will report to the Director of Tournament Operations and will assist with event logistics and support our professional staff with Tournament planning and execution. The role will learn best practices in vendor relationships and assist with coordination and procurement processes. The individual will be exposed to a variety of practical learning experiences within the department and assist with both verbal and written communication as needed. This position requires residence or relocation to the Augusta, GA area.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Interfaces and collaborates directly with the Director of Tournament Operations and Tournament Headquarters staff to support planning and coordination for all on-site operations of the Masters Tournament. This position also contributes to the conduct of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals.
- Supports the coordination of contractors, vendors and related procurement. This includes scheduling and deploying of associated services, materials and goods for the Masters Tournament.
- Assists with various administrative duties relating to member-led Tournament Committees including communication and meeting minutes.
- Works with team members on the creation of operational documents and maps for internal use and for Tournament patrons.
- Updating data and records in Tournament files as well as oversight in the collection and updates of selected golf related documents.
- Assists as needed with the Volunteer Program, supporting the Manager, Volunteer Operations.
- Participates in the process of fulfilling invitations, responses and correspondence for functions during Masters week.
- Assists in the organization and execution of nightly functions during Tournament week.
- Contributes to the fulfillment of Tournament trophies and photography post Masters.
- Collaborates with the administration of Appreciation Week for volunteer participants.
- Supports all Tournament Headquarters Staff on ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.
- Aids the ticketing team, including review of credential lists, inputting credential information into the ANGC ticketing system and checking finished credentials for accuracy.
- Supports the ticketing team during ticket and hospitality package fulfillment.
Physical Demands
- Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties.
- Occasionally required to walk and work with hands and arms, lift up to 25 pounds and/or drive a golf cart.
- Constantly required to sit, sometimes for several hours at a time, and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

- Liaise with Committee Members and Tournament Officials as needed.

Qualifications:
Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and high workloads with high attention for detail.
- Ability to solve problems independently and in conjunction with others.
- Knowledge of golf tournament operations practices and principles.
- Knowledge of the Rules of Golf preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Publisher, Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Efficient organizational skills, creative, resourceful and diligent in working with repetitious tasks.
Relative Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required or currently enrolled in a college or university with a senior class ranking.
- Experience working for a professional golf tournament preferred.
Required License(s):
- Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully completes the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program.
Projected Work Schedule:
Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and overtime as dictated by the needs of the business.
