Do you want to work for some of the most iconic franchises in all sports? NESN/SNP is looking for a driven and enthusiastic intern to join our team for the Fall 2025 semester as a Social Media Planning Intern. This is a great opportunity for current college students looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced sports media environment while learning from our experienced social and content strategy teams.

 

Reporting to the Associate Director of Content Planning & Strategy, the Social Media Planning Intern will support NESN/SNPโ€™s daily and long-term social media planning efforts, gaining valuable experience in content scheduling, cross-platform strategy, and campaign execution for major sports properties like the Red Sox, Bruins, Pirates and Penguins 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation, organization, and updating of social media content calendars for NESN/SNP platforms.
  • Support planning for key content tentpoles, themed campaigns, and live event coverage.
  • Track and share social content plans across internal teams to ensure alignment with broadcast, digital, and marketing initiatives.
  • Help gather and organize creative assets for upcoming social posts and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with production, marketing, and digital teams to maintain a regular cadence of planning meetings and post-project recaps.
  • Monitor competitor and league social channels for inspiration and emerging trends.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a BA/BS degree program - Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Previous internship, coursework, or student organization experience in social media or content production.
  • Strong interest in sports and an understanding of social mediaโ€™s role in sports storytelling.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for basic photo/video editing and graphic creation. 
  • Familiarity with major social platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube) and their best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with content scheduling tools, asset management platforms, or analytics dashboards is a plus.
