Job Description:
The participant will work under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, Vice President of Communications & Digital Media, and Video Producer and will contribute to video production projects for the Syracuse Crunch.
Candidates should have flexible schedules to be at the arena for practices and morning skates, community events in the evening and all home games.
Objective/Goals:
The internship will provide hands-on experience in professional hockey, while working closely with the Crunchโs video production professionals. Chosen candidate(s) will explore the inner workings of a professional sports teamโs video needs in terms of content development, logistics, production and distribution. Candidate(s) will learn how to engage the Crunch fan base through multi-media platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in production of Crunch promotional and social media videos
- Edit in-game content for immediate social media use
- Edit short and long form videos using Adobe Premiere in a timely manner
- Log game footage
- Enhance the Crunchโs online video presence
- Help manage Crunch video archive
- Assist with team video production needs
- Work home games and events as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned in the areas of video and media relations
Qualifications:
- Experience with non-linear editing programs (candidate will be using Adobe Premiere)
- Familiarity with Adobe Audition and Adobe After Effects is a plus, but not required
- Strong creative, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Candidate should be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing related degree
- Understanding of the rules of hockey recommended; experience in sports preferred, but not necessary
- Must have access to Adobe Premiere on a laptop
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
Time:
- Duration of the 2025-26 Syracuse Crunch season
- 6-10 hours a week (Negotiable)
- All Syracuse Crunch home games
- Additional team events (holiday party, community events, etc.) as needed
- Other scheduled times to be determined
Compensation:
This is a non-paid internship. When negotiated with each individual college, credit will be granted. There is parking reimbursement.
